IBS – Integrated Building Solutions successfully executed the supply, installation, testing and commissioning of solar and electric water heating systems for the KAFD Residential Project, located within the King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD), one of Riyadh’s most prestigious mixed-use developments. The project combined rooftop solar water heating with electric water heating for residential units, delivering efficient, reliable, and space-optimised hot water solutions suitable for modern urban living.
The systems were implemented to ensure consistent hot water availability, high energy efficiency, and long-term operational reliability, while reducing dependence on grid electricity through the use of renewable energy.
IBS Scope of Work
IBS was responsible for:
Supplying and installing rooftop solar water heating systems
Supplying electric water heating systems for residential use
Mounting the solar collector arrays on galvanised steel support frames with concrete ballast bases, installed without penetrating the roof waterproofing
Arranging the collectors in parallel rows at a uniform tilt angle, with calculated row spacing to eliminate inter-row shading
Interconnecting pipework and integration with the residential plumbing and utility infrastructure
Executing the works within an active construction site, coordinated with other trades and carried out under strict working-at-height safety measures
Testing, commissioning and handover, with the collectors kept in protective wrapping until final handover
