IBS – Integrated Building Solutions successfully executed the supply, installation, testing and commissioning of a central solar water heating system for the King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) Project. The facility required a dependable, high-capacity hot water supply able to meet continuous daily demand across a large institutional campus, while reducing electricity consumption and long-term operating costs.

The system was delivered as a complete rooftop plant — solar collection, insulated storage, and automated control — engineered for consistent hot water availability and long-term operational reliability.

IBS Scope of Work

IBS was responsible for:

  • Supplying and installing a complete solar water heating system

  • Installing flat-plate solar collector arrays on concrete bases at roof level, set at a uniform tilt angle for maximum year-round solar gain

  • Supplying and installing insulated hot water storage and heating tanks

  • Fabricating and installing fully insulated interconnecting pipework, complete with expansion vessels and safety valves

  • Supplying and installing electrical control panels for automatic operation of the heating cycle and circulation pumps

  • Integration with the facility's plumbing and utility infrastructure

  • Testing, commissioning and handover of the complete system

The project utilized water heating equipment from Eau Chauffage, including insulated hot water storage and heating tanks installed at rooftop plant level, together with flat-plate solar collector arrays selected for durability and sustained performance under continuous institutional demand.
